My idea is........ I do a girl/boy in 2 shades (example...2 shades of blue in her dress) Then for that square I did 2 shades of blue fabric. It was fun, not only for the embroidery, but the picking of 2 fabrics. Thanks for the kind words. Your all sooooooooooooo sweet here and make me feel so welcome

how adorable! I used to do hand embroidery, untill I got a machine! They just get it done so much faster, and I still prefer the ones with the "hand embroidered look", it's not relaxing though. Keep it up.

Actually I did a blackwork quilt for my son a few yrs back by taking his art work, copying them, then using a hot iron tracing pencil, I traced each one, fliped over onto quilted muslin, Iron..... Then did all the work in Black...

This is cute bev. I did a baby quilt for my grandson using the little boys that you used on this quilt, then I alternated them with a bear paw block. The little boys are so cute when embroidered. I never thought about putting the little girls in with them and making myself a quilt !! Great idea !

He's 27 so kinda hard to buy for, so I thought hrmmmmmm this may be cool. He still uses it. It was already somewhat quilted, so I just put a back on it, and found satin ribbing at Joanns to put around it. It was fun and he sure was excited to see his work on a blanket
