I took this one off the longarm this morning. This quilt is pieced and the red-work beautifully hand-stitched by one of the ladies here locally in my guild. She had originally intended to hand quilt it, but as happens to all of us, time got away from her and the eleventh hour was here.

She chose the classic Baptist Fan design for the quilting, with white thread so as not to detract from the hand embroidery.

I am usually not a big fan of redwork although I do admire the skill that goes into making them. But I really like this and the BF is a perfect compliment.

How do you get your Baptist Fans so symmetrical and perfect? Is this a stencil, panto, groovy board, computer generated? As a fellow LA but only a beginner I am always curious when I see quilting so symmetrically perfect.
