OK... I showed you the unfinished top, now I have to share the FINISHED wall hanging! :P

I did not care for the quilting suggestions that came with the pattern, so the simple design is my own creation. I also used a decorative stitch on it (three rows worth!). This is the first quilting project I have used decorative stitching on, but it will NOT be the last ~ I love it!!!

btw.... I can't stress how much I LOVE (!!!!!!) my Babylock Quilter's Choice machine, either!! 8)   8)

Full view of back. I LOVE the fabric!!

Close-up of corner on front. This shows the decorative stitching ... and also the not-so-straight stitching that inspired the decorative row on top of it! (insert very sheepish grin here)

That is so pretty. Is your quilting the metal looking thread or was that part of the fabric design. Either way, just beautiful!

I used a clear thread for most of the work on the top (the only exception is the decorative stitches, of course), and yes, it looks a little "metalic". A coouple of the fabrics have gold in them, but I think you can tell which is fabric and which is stitching. 8)

Thanks for your sweet comments about my wall hanging! :) :P

I made it using the "Star Bright" pattern in "Your First Quilt Book (or it should be)", by Carol Doak. The finished dimensions (according to the book) are 36 1/2" x 36 1/2", but my binding added a little over an inch over-all.

The book was NOT my first quilt book ~ maybe my HUNDRED and first! This is my first project from this book. The instructions are quite straight-forward and easy to follow, although if I truly were a beginner, I might have been frustrated by fact that the author did not remind the quilter to square up the blocks.

That is one beautiful quilt. The colors and fabrics are just gorgeous!!!! I'm not one for Wall hangings but they are nice and quick to make out. The quilting, on the other hand, is always the time taker. :D
