My mother in law gave me some antique quilt tops she bought at a yard sale MANY years back. I need some guidance on how to finish these. I will post pictures in different boxes. Here is the first one. Please forgive me if I don't get the picture right the first time.

Wow, that is pretty. Looks like there will be some Y seams in your future.

These are all hand pieced and I can't wait to hand quilt them. I'm just not sure how to finish the star.

I'm also getting ready to post another top that has an angular edge, that is what throws me off.

I'd put the cream color(lighter fabric in the star) or a white all around it and borders of dr. green & yellow to make a square size when finished.

You can post 3 pictures on each time, and then add more on the same one. Read the instructions in the box when you are doing the original post...it tells how.

I LOVE old quilts and quilt tops. those will be wonderful finished into quilts. Good for you!!!

To finish the star into a top, Google "Bethlehem Star Quilt Pattern" and you'll find lots. You just have to cut squares and triangles to fit between the points.

I've been hunting for awhile to find a Bethlehem Star free pattern. Does anyone have it bookmarked? Thanks so much!
