However, because you are just learning to use Aunt Becky, it is understandable you are learning a new method and you will have lots of practicing before you are even better than you were before (which was pretty good). Does that make sense?

I have an Aunt Becky and never did get the hang of the thing - but then, I don't hand quilt very often. Your quilting is awesome in the first pic and I am sure since you like the Aunt Becky, you will soon be just as good if not better. It is all in what you like and feel comfortable working with.

Thanks everyone!! I'm so happy to be quilting again! I hope I get the hang of using Aunt Becky. I just can't seem to do it like Ms. Jean in the video. That causes me to stress the needle and make my hand cramp, staying in that "tripod" position. I'd rather rock it. But I have been practicing using it instead of my left thumb under the quilt and quilting my normal way with my right hand and it works (I just need more practice). Now if I could figure out how to stop abusing my right thumb!!
Oh, and I don't think I'm holding it the way you're supposed to hold it, either. I found it's easier for me to use by putting it over my knuckle and kind of making a loose fist under the quilt, but I still have to "catch" the needle when it comes up.
