What a nice 3D effect! I love this quilt and you've done such a nice job with the design of it too. I think the fleece backing would depend on how you're going to use it. If you are going to use it for a super warm cover I would use fleece but if not I would use something ese. Depends on your climate. The temperatures are too mild for a fleece backing where I live on the coast of NC.

I think I'll go for fleece on the back. Because in the Netherlands it can be very cold when it is wintertime...and I really don't like that cold climate.
When spring come I am always very very happy. :D

Yes I will do the quilting by hand. I will tell you a secret...I find it very difficult to do the quilting on the machine..even with a walking foot I get plies and rinkles allover..

And thanks you all for the nice compliment...it makes me smiling and also a little red.. :D

I wouldn't put more than one layer of fleece,
due to the weight it adds, It is beautiful the way it is,
I really like the 3-D effect. Its absoultely a
    beautiful piece of work! :-)

Beautiful Quilt, I am a beginner and had never heard of Quilt Mania magazine. I looked it up and was delighted it is available in English. Thanks for broadening my world.

Your quilt is beautiful. As to the fleece? Why not go ahead and use it Yo will have to use a larger needle if by machine. but a good fleece is pretty easy to work with and oh so warm and comfy. By hand, maybe a longer needle and a possibly a cotton/poly thread.
Good luck and please show us pics of finished product.
