Here is a pillow my 8 yo DD made. This is the autism awareness ribbon, designed by Carol Doak. She's going to enter it into our local county fair. Ignore the cat hair. They decided they had to check it out before I had a chance to take a picture.

If you've met one child with Autism, you've met ONE child with Autism.

By all means let's be open-minded, but not so open-minded that our brains drop out.

Excellent work for your 8 year old DD.
Question about the Autism Awareness Ribbon
Is there a set colour for the ribbon?
Thank you for the information
I am guessing you can buy the fabric in most quilt shops?
She did a beautiful job! Her work is excellent. Good luck at the fair! My daughter had Aspergers but was not interested in sewing. She did play the violin in the Minnesota Youth Symphonies for 10 years, and a total of 17 years of playing.
I think she did a great job. Look for a ribbon at the fair.
Well done! And the kitties ALWAYS have to show their opinion, don't they?

Quilts and cats just go together!
She did a great job on her pillow!

I love the pillow. My 18 year old son has aspergers and my great nephew is autisic and i work with autisic children. I am making a puzzle quilt for my great nephew to take to school for nap time hoping it draws more postive attention to these children.
Great job! My grandson has Asbergers and he is 13 and helped me do a design on his great great grandmother's unfinished quilt squares yesterday. I will sew it today. Great job on your pillow and I hope you win First Place!

May the judges recognize her hard work and precision. We want to be sure to keep encouraging her on her path to great enjoyment. We all give her a blue ribbon right now. Be sure to let us know how she makes out at the county fair.
Made my (mild to moderately autistic) DGS a whole pillowcase with the puzzle fabric from Hobby Lobby. Now he is more interested in Cars, and anything with wheels so it is no longer his favorite, but he really enjoyed it until his interest changed.
Your DD did an excellent job! Looks like a winner to me!
