I cut all the pieces out with a normal 6 x 24 ruler, except for the leaf stems which are appliqued on. Did you read through the whole pattern? I can't remember for sure, but I think she has you cut out the leaf points about halfway into the pattern.

thanks, no there r no directions for the leafs. I guess because it was free it is only part of a pattern. I looked back through the pattern. It is omly 2 pages. Did you have the pattern/book?

you have a very beautiful quilt. i hope to do that well one day. I am a mother of three, a son age 52, served 25 yrs in the navy, serving in iaq and iran. I am so proud of him. My other son is 50 and he served 8 years as mp in bermuda. MY DAUGHTER is 46 yrs old and works for 11 drs. and a mother of 3 girls

Yes, I had the pattern. I got it from here:

It also comes with a 4 1/2" on-point ruler, which is why it's not as cheap. You can also make a four-leaf tablerunner, or a four-leaf wallhanging from the same pattern.

Very nice. I made one years ago and it's still one of my favorites. There's just something about autumn colors Smart idea with the sleeve on the back!

thanks, I found the pattern on Amazon for 11.09 and it has the ruler also.
