I was just so excited to order the book and didn't even look at Connecting Threads....I could have saved $4 on the book plus the shipping cost....oh well... giving someone else my business

I used cotton fabric. I purchased the halloween outside print from JoAnn's during their sale last week. The inside is lined with something I had on hand (huge halloween/fall collection at my house). For the "Quilt sandwich" I used fusible fleece. I didn't use what they said to use, and from making 4 of these so far (making more this weekend), I think you could use batting as well. Anything that is going to give the sides and bottom a little substance to stand up. I like the fusible fleece myself. The last baskets I made I used Muslin on the inside. The only thing I did was I cut a piece of the outside fabric to line the handle. When you ladies all get yours done I would love to see them!!!!

Wanted to let you ladies know, if you read this post, that I quilted a whole yard of fabric at one time (yard top, yard bottom with heavy batting sandwiched). You can actually cut 5 baskets out of a yard of fabric. Makes it go much quicker. Plus, if you do 2 different fabrics - top and bottom, you can get 3 of one basket and 2 of another (or how ever you want to break it up).

Just thought I'd pass that along. Made 5 more this past week.
