The Baby Quilt Is Finally Done!
#1
After I agreed to make the quilt for my brother's high school best friend, I found myself taking a list of do's and don't's from the man's fiancee...grrr! Half the fun of making a quilt, especially as one for a baby shower gift, is picking out designs and colors. She only wanted pinks and browns but also wanted ladybugs. I couldn't find a lot of ladybug patterns so I decided to make an Attic's Window, looking like you're seeing a lawn full of ladybugs out your window. Afterward a friend found the pattern that you see in the borders so I added that in last.
So, this took a lot longer than I wanted it to, because I simply had no ambition to finish it. The shower is in 9 days and it's just now done. Amen!

The whole quilt! (Don't mind the mess in the background: We're remodeling.)

Such a cute quilt! I would have thought about the joy the child will get from the quilt while I was making it, and put the mother-to-be out of my mind altogether. Maybe she'll learn her manners later...but don't count on it.
Warning! Don't expect this mother to be to be particularly grateful. Again, think of the baby, not her mom.
