    Baby Quilts for TWINS!!

A sweet friend (and former 4-Her of mine - boy, do I feel old!!) recently had twins. One sweet little girl and a darling little boy.

My thought - What better way to usher new members of the family in then with some baby quilts!

I wanted the quilts to be the same, but different. I did this once before... 12 years ago... when HandyMan's sister had twin girls. Their quilts were the same pattern, the same colors and fabrics, both girly, but the colors and fabrics were placed differently in the quilts.

For the newest set of twins, I decided to use a simple rail fence block. And for the sweet little girl, Kid One chose pinks and reds from the stash. I chose blues from the stash for that darling little boy.

I really love this. Can I ask, is the center rail a little wider? I think I'm going to make these quilts. My son and DIL are having a baby and we don't know what it is. If I have both done I'll be ready.

The center rail is wider, cut at 2.5x4.5 inches
The white rails are cut at 1.5x4.5 inches
    Blocks finish at 4 inches
I made 143 blocks so there are 11 blocks across, 13 down.
The quilts finishes at approx. 44 x 52.
They're generously sized so once babies reach the one year mark and none of the other baby blankets are big enough, the quilt will still fit. They should even work on a toddler bed, but I'd have to double-check my length measurement...

Those are gorgeous modern looking quilts. My twinnies, girls, always get purple and pink. The older one gets pink and the younger one purple. They are now 7 and already know which is for each because of th colors.
