Perhaps this could be one with dual purpose--either as a quilt or as a wall hanging? You could add a sleeve that can be pinned to the quilt if you think she wants to use it as a wall hanging at some time--either now or later. Love this pattern with an illusion of circles, even when there are none. Name of pattern, please! It's great and should be gifted but then there's nothing wrong with making a second quilt for a little sweetheart either.

Back when I was a new mommy, there were studies that suggested just this style of high-contrast, visually stimulating nursery decor. It's great for a baby quilt! Don't just save it for one holiday a year. You've done a super job.
