"Fishing for Advice" ;)

This is not quilted yet. I need ideas on how to quilt this on my frame. I had planned on using a wave pantogram, but with the appliqued fish, I am afraid I might run into them. The little border is actually a mint green. Can't tell that with the picture.

This quilt is made for a friend of ours that will be retiring from the Navy in April. It is a surprise and I can't wait for him to get it. I know he will appreciate it.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

very cute, can you use your waves and go around your fish? maybe just echo quilt around them...or add a row of bubbles coming up from each one? just some thoughts...
is sure turned out good!

I love the color gradation! It really does resemble the ocean!

Beautiful! I like the waves idea - could you do it freehand then avoid the fish? And maybe some outline quilting round the whales? I FMQ on my domestic and have no LA experience so don't really know whether this is possible... I like the idea of bubbles coming out of the fishes mouths too - could you do this with silvery beads increasing in size?
