The 'experts' are now recommending bold, bright, contrasting colours for babies today, no more pastels. I've seen some lovely baby quilts using blacks and whites in them, plus whatever other colours of choice.
My niece asked for a newborn quilt in darker autumn colours, I said "huh?!" but it came out great and I love that kid!

All things bright and beautiful! And definitely suitable for a girl of any age! I love butterflies myself, but I have yet to make one--- although I have had my eye on that pattern for some time!

    Absolutely adorable!
A dog is not "almost human" and I know of no greater insult to the canine race than to describe it as such.

It is striking and yes I think it is perfect for a baby....they are attracted to primary colors. Thanks for sharing.

Love it. I agree that a baby quilt doesn't have to be baby colors.

I'd put that on the wall in a babies room. The colors are fantastic to catch the babies attention.

It is absolutely beautiful! When my husband was in college one class he took was in child development and they said bright colors stimulate babies and their learning process, so after that when I made a baby blanket (crochet or quilt) I make it with bright colors. My daughter took a similar class 25 years later and they are still saying the bright colors are better than pastels. So depending on what you want from the quilt - the brighter the better.

i love it...and all the comments are right...babies see bold colors much better than pastels....this should be a wall hanging til she gets old enough to really appreciate it.
