Batik Tumelo Trail
Pattern Name: Bonnie Hunter's Tumelo Trail (variation of Jacob's Ladder)
Dimensions: 72" X 72"
Fabric source/name: Batik Scraps
Pieced and quilting by machine, Warm and Plush batting.
I made this in a Bonnie Hunter class. If you ever have an opportunity to have a workshop with her, take it!! Originally, I planned a larger quilt, but liked the square arrangement & size that wound up on my design wall. I finished the center of the quilt within days of the workshop then wanted to use the left over HSTs in the border. I must have tried & took apart 4 or 5 of them. Couldn't get the math to work out. Piano keys are not my favorite, but I really like them in this case. I'm always disappointed in how my batik quilts photograph. The fabrics have such gorgeous prints, but look almost solid.
