    Batik turning 12

I'm making 3 quilts for a co-worker who wants to give them to her adult children for Christmas. This is my first - and probably last - commission job.

    Pattern: Turning 12
Fabric: Connecting Threads fat quarter bundle

So many quilts, so little time.

Well you do gorgeous work. I can see why you were asked to make quilts for someone.

Beautiful!! Love the batiks. I know it is hard to make a quilt someone else has requested -- I do surprise quilts much better. Great job!!

Great quilt! Commissions are a good way to suck all the fun out of quilting, aren't they?

Those fabrics are really, really pretty in this pattern. And I think I understand where you're coming from when you say no more commissioned quilts. What a lot of pressure it is to make something knowing before hand that it will be sold. Much easier to make it and then be able to say, " Here's what I have - take it or leave it!" At any rate, this is very nice and I like the chance to see the Connecting Threads batiks in a completed quilt.

Your batiks are beautiful and the pattern works well with them. A really beautiful quilt.
I can understand your not wanting to take on commissions. I made one quilt for a woman. She was really pleased and I was rewarded handsomely but the pressure to please and perfection was enormous. Now, I make a quilt, if you like it we can talk about a price. Less stress for me. I have to admit, I hate to sell or give away my quilts.

Nice Quilt! Never say never..... cause you never know. Quite often I think "never again" but then, I do it again.
