Batik WIP and you can never know when you'll find a bargin...
#22
The design for the quilt may not be my own, but I think I have seen it or something like it when looking at quilts on the internet... I see so many quilts on the internet that I like and keep in mind for future reference and sometimes use as a stepping off point for my own tweek on a design...I put it on graph paper to get the size I want and to know how much fabric I need and pieces I need to cut...otherwise I would be lost. This board is chock full of inspiration and it is one of the reasons I enjoy it so much. All of you ladies and gents are so, so talented and I am so often in awe of your work.

Your batik quilt looks almost like one in the Modern quilt book I am currently reading. The design has 3 squares in the center instead of 4 and 1 inch strips between the rows. It was by Kim Schaefer called City Lights and the wallhanging was in batiks also. Nothing like a good bargain to get the creative juices flowing!

Nine of the blocks would make an awesome throw or baby quilt.

I love this quilt!!!! I may have to make one like it. And yes, I do love a bargain, but I never find any like yours. Where In Arizona are you? My FIL lives in Green Valley, and they have a shop called the White Elephant. Your shop sounds just like it.
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who enjoys designing quilts on graph paper. No EQ for me, my brain needs the workout!

Love the blocks! Connecting Threads is wonderful, isn't it? Where else can you buy precuts that are exactly the same price per yard as regular fabrics - no cutting charges. I love their fabrics, too. The CHRISTmas fabric is really cute. Can't wait to see the finished products!
