Default Beach Blanket Bingo-Well, Minus the Bingo

My niece likes to hang by the pool, so I made her this quilted "beach towel"; normal ones are never long enough and this ties to the lounge chair so you can flip without it bunching. It's got thick poly batting so it'll dry fast, but the thickness was like quilting a mattress!

That is so colorful and bright. I love it. The fabrics are great - just what I have been looking for. Are they recent, from the same line?

Most are from the same line, I can't find all of the selvage, but it's Timeless Treasures, I think it's "Beach Fun", the number is C1152. The turquoise is a Kona solid, and I picked up the pink at JoAnn.

Great idea and nicely done. Love the "wave" quilting. This is sure to be a hit. Great idea to use poly batting for quick drying. Did you use a pattern, or design it yourself?

I designed it myself, but I have seen the large offset flying geese before, in an ad in the back of a quilting magazine. I normally buy the pattern for quilts that are inspirations for things I use so they get paid for it, but I never could find the actual pattern. If anyone knows, I'll go buy one. The idea for a quilted beach towel though is totally my own. On the back, I just made surfer stripes on it because I didn't have enough backing fabric and she loves lime green.
