What a fantastic wallhanging, you must be SOOOOOOOOO proud of yourself, and your quilter has done an amazing job it really brings the scene to life, I love all the details she has added, and clearly alot of thought went into this project. :D

Thanks Kirsten
This took me about 2 months to make, although I didn't work on it every day. I am a paper piecing addict. I took a class years back.
As for the paper I use, I used a tisse like paper for this project, but it is difficult to use in my printer because its so thin (jams). I just use regular printer paper and set my machine on the smallest stitch (don't make a mistake cause its not easy to rip out) then paper removal is easy.
The 2 esssential tools for paper piecing are:
- clover mini iron, I find the most important step is ironing (never use steam) so all the pieces will line up perfectly.
- Elmers Washable School Glue Stick. Just a bit to hold the pieces flat.
More tips:
Cut each foundation paper pattern slightly larger
Machine baste each foundation in the 1/4" seam allowance, then trim. It makes aligning all the pieces easier.
Use glue stick to secure 1st piece

I can't believe it! I just finished this, have it all ready to machine quilt. It's a great pattern. I have a lighthouse bedroom and this will be above the bed as a wallhanging. I love your colors - beautiful job quilting it too. Just wait, and I"ll post mine too! Thanx for sharing!!!

Thanks for all the pics. It was interesting to see the progression of the quilt and to see the detail your long arm quilter used. It is an impressive wall hanging, you should be proud! What a great accomplishment!

That is beautiful, I love the ocean. You did a fantastic job piecing it, I haven't tried paper piecing yet.

Whoever long arm quilted it did a great job, it really brought your piece to life.
