I have been working on this quilt for several months.
It started with a tropical/floral print that I fell in love with. Then I couldn't cut into it...then I saw a pattern and I somewhat modified it!
I then bought batiks for the center rows and did a piano key...well, those didn't line up right...rip, rip...
Didn't have enough fabric for sashings and had to go to JoAnns...then hubby asked, "Are you making this one big enough for the bed?" A queen size!!!! Aarggh....
So, more fabric...then it got put aside for the holiday stuff...but it did get simply quilted in the ditch with batting and a FLEECE backing...I know, what am I thinking...Fleece backing, batting and NO wrinkles!!! Yippee for me!
But today the beast got done!!! It has been finished quilting, the binding is on and now all I have to do is the stitching on the back of the binding. Also, the weather is terrible here so I made my own binding. Don't tell the quilt police that it isn't cut on the bias, but is gonna work.
Oh, It is a Queen size and quilted on my Brother PC8500D...what a job!!!
Will try and post a picture of the BEAST!!! :)

I'm gonna have to take a picture of the finished quilt...
I worked on it today for about 4 hours.
I pinned and pinned somemore since I did not want any wrinkles or puckers on the back and was using batting and fleece!!!
    Thanks,
    K

Very pretty and just the thing to brighten up the yucky weather!
Doesn't it feel good to get a "problem" one finished? Great Job!!

The quilt police aren't watching! The only time I use bias binding is when the quilt has scallops, which, for me, is NEVER! I used to always make bias binding, but then someone like Harriet Hargrave said don't bother. So I don't! Bias stretches when you don't want it to, and straight binding goes much nicer around corners - fold and turn.
