it's beautiful. i believe it is called "peacock feathers". i once done one like that and someday i want to put it on a quilt. i've seen a quilt made of crocheted doilies and know it can be done, it's just beyond my level right now. but someday.

Your both so lucky to have found such a wonderful friendship
with each other and her gift is awesome, and it looks like your doing her a gift as well by long arming her Beautiful quilt for her .
