My grandkids all have quilts or blankets I made them as babies. The oldest is going off to college with a new blanket/quilt and the youngest is 5. They all remember the blankets I made for them and still cherish them, although some are very threadbare. Once in a while one of them brings a blanket over that needs to be "mended". I usually let them be a part of the process. It makes me all fuzzy inside to know that they love these things so much. My 16 year old donated his old blankets I made him to the girls doll bin here at my house. The girls think it is funny to wrap their dolls in their cousin's blankies.

Shooting Squares is the name of the block pattern. Thank you all for your very kind words. I take them as high praise, coming as they do from quilters such as yourselves. It's very encouraging to get your approval.

I hope the quilts I make for the grandkids will last long enough to become lap robes when they to go to a nursing home! If they last a year, I'll be tickled pink.
If I have enough scraps, I want to make matching doll quilts for them all. But to get enough time....

I love this quilt. Such a pretty pattern and colors.

they all may be in college before I get their quilts done
I'm having the same problem. I promised my grandson a quilt and am having a hard time getting it finished. I told him I might have it ready for his graduation or wedding. He's just turning 13 and got a chuckle out of that.
