top ready for the next step. Been YEARS since I have done a quilt and I haven't done many at all LOL! This is bigger than a "lap" but not quite a "twin" - it's not as narrow as I think a twin is...for my 84 year old grandpa for xmas. I'm working on several tops for xmas and then I think I'll find someone to machine quilt them for me if possible. Anyway, sorry for the pic but I used a wide angle and the distortion from that and the angle shot from makes it look small- don't look TOO close, my corners aren't all perfect line-ups and such.

thanks! my twin sis wants a wildlife/hunting theme one for her little guy in twin size and has cut tons of 4 1/2 squares out so now I have to figure out a design to use them and make a quilt for him LOL! That's the next project.

Looks good and I know your grandpa will appreciate having a new quilt for Christmas.
you could use the 4 1/2 in squares in a 4-patch in an arrangement like they do for Quilts for Kids. Those are fast and easy to put together and quilt on your domestic machine with a walking foot.

I'm thinking of quilting this one for grandpa myself. In his 84 years I don't think anyone has ever made him a quilt and I don't recall ever seeing one in their house ever growing up but I know he likes the ones I've shown him in magazines. This one is very special so I should do it by hand I suppose.

Barb, Can you tell me more about the "quilts for kids"? sounds good!
