Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful!! Great colors, wonderful quilting. Are those dragonflies on top of the feathered wreath? If so, are they appliqued on? Did you quilt over them? I know, I'm full of questions, but when I see a quilt this beautiful I want to know everything about it. You certainly earned top prize for this one.

Thanks everyone. :) I just put it into a bag to mail to the AQS Knoxville show.

The quilting was done by GreenFairy (someday I hope to have half her skill!!). It isn't dragonflies, it's spindly flowers in the fabric design.

I am mailing it off today, just got it boxed up a minute ago. I really am just happy it was juried in. And you know, I read that if you have won a monetary prize in any AQS show, you can't win another one.

    I'll just have other chances!

Congratulations. I have won things at the fair before and know the goose bumps one feels when you see that BIG ribbon hanging on your item. Way to go and never stop this craft we all enjoy so much. The quilt is must be beautiful when spread all out.

Interesting -but it seems to me that some people have won many times - like Caryl Bryer Fallert. Or has she won other than AQS prizes? Also, Phillipa Naylor has won more than once. I wonder if this is a new rule??? Or if you win a 2nd time, maybe you don't get the cash? Doesn't seem fair!!!!!!!

I couldn't say since this is my first time but I read this in the rules for all of the shows. I thought it was probably a good idea because there are some top people in the country that would always be winning all of the shows. Gives the rest of us a chance.

    6. Quilts winning cash awards in any previous AQS contest (Paducah, Nashville, Knoxville, or Des Moines) or made from precut or stamped kits are ineligible.

    Under General Contest Rules

Ya'll...it says that the QUILT that previously won cannot be re-entered...not that the "Quilt-maker" cannot enter something else. :D

Not surprised Pam. It's nice to know that when you win with THIS one, you'll still be able to enter with the next!

I just talked to my daughter who the quilt was made for and she said, "someone picked out some good colors." lol She picked out the fabric.
Congratulations. Well deserved. It sure looks fantastic hanging there. We haven't been "putting up" with the pictures along the way; we have been thoroughly enjoying them. Yes, your daughter picked out good colors. I do believe it was your mom and grandmother letting you know they are proud of you. I didn't believe in that kind of stuff until my mom passed, and we got all kinds of signs she was around. Again, congratulations and good luck on the show.
