Love it and I like the way your top stitch on the binding looks. I think I will try that in the future.

If your MIL taught you to quilt I'm sure she will be overjoyed to see what you made for her. xx

They turned out great. Your MIL will be so appreciative of your gift, made with love especially for her. The best kind of gift there is!

I won't bother pointing out the mistakes (trying to break that habit), but I finally finished quilting and binding my MIL's Christmas present. I tried attaching the binding on the back first and then machine stitching it onto the front. Came out pretty well, I just wish that pink thread I used didn't look so peachy/orangey.

Oh well, MIL's a sweet woman and the one who taught me to quilt - so she shouldn't mind too much! :)
Your MIL will be THRILLED! on any number of levels ...
that you cared enough to learn what she tried to teach you, that you exercised your freedom and personal choices in good color combination ...
you have probably even stepped out beyond what she knows you can do by your choice of this project.
That you considered giving/making her a gift is so very special!
And, if she doesn't christen it with a few happy tears, I will be pretty surprised!
It is a momma thing, and you have paid her the best compliment by utilizing something she taught you.
Good show! <wave>
