I was so encouraged by your post! I am in a similar situation right now. I have used very similar fabrics and unlike you, I jumped in and cut all my fat quarters with great gusto, no planning really, just had an idea to do a "quick" quilt. Disaster. Too many squares cut, so no decent sized pieces to use for different blocks, no real toning fabric available in my huge stash for sashing etc. etc.
You have helped more than you know. I love your quilt and it has turned out very well, all credit to you. I should know better but there you go, but hope remains now so I will carry on and maybe "borrow" a bit of your design. Thank you for sharing.

It came out cute! I just had this happen also...never have before. It was flat and square but when I starched it bubbled up in the middle...I pressed, not ironed! Anyone have suggestions on that?

If you hadn't said you had any trouble with it, no one would have known. It is adorable and perfect for a little girl.

Same her - flatter than a pancake until I tried to starch! The center was so bubbled up I almost cried!
I PRESSED, and PRESSED and it finally got somewhat better (not much) but apparently it wasn't so bad it couldn't be quilted out (YAY)
