the red makes it look rich! Plus I like darker bindings b/c they don't show dirt and wear as much.

The red one sets off the center amd flows better

I like both, but I think I'd go with the red, it brings out the red in the other fabrics. Please show us when you're finished.

Hi Henry,

Red would be nice, heck either one would look great though!Your work is beautiful.

Nice links, thanks. I too make my own binding, I have thought about getting diffrent binding tools before but decided I have done with out this long....Well not saying I won't end up with one, this trying to cut back of buying sewing stuff(gagets, rulers, fabric, fabric, fabric, lol) is tough.Anyway I think you will find that binding you make yourself is much easier to apply too!

You need to make your own binding cheaper and thicker. Sorry, just my opinions.
How do I make my own binding?
Cut strips 2 1/4", fold in half WST long-ways; press. Sew to the right side of the piece. Press the binding out; fold over and stitch to the back. I think when you make your own binding, it's better quality and you can always match the piece, rather than depending on what the store sells!
