Bird of Paradise
Table runner, or perhaps wall hanging. The machine appliqué embroidery design is from Sweet Pea, out of Australia. The design also included a single filler leaf, which I did on a hot pink silk. I also used some specialty holographic metallic thread on the leaves and stems, it adds a little shimmer. The outline of the leaves is neon green. The birds of paradise include some leftover fabric from an orange peel quilt, it’s always good when leftovers get used. I also used neon orange thread on some of the flowers. I used batiks for all the leaves. The outside border is yellow/gold ombré which changed the look of the project immediately. It looks like it glows and makes the center pop. I love it when a project just goes together easily, who knew.

That is a fun project and looks pretty on your table. It looks like you had a good time putting it all together. Love how you can easily make their designs your own with a fabric change.
They are one of my favorites!
