Birdhouse doorstop - cute and fast
Fun to do and 3 hours start to finish. I filled it halfway up with small rocks and then scraps to keep the shape. You can alter it a bit and create a small purse, gift bag.. anything you want. I drew a birdhouse front and back and measured all sides for the side dimension (2.5" x xx). I added 1 inch to the dims for the roof, made that 3.5" wide x xx. I used low loft batting and quilted the pieces then attached (right sides together) with a straight stitch, leaving an opening at the roof peak to turn right side out. Roof was attached separately, tacking in several places in the back after stuffing the piece.
I used a cork for the perch (hot gluing) but a dowel would work too. Bird buttons or something from dollar store can embellish.
