You did a wonderful job on your quilt. It looks so modern and the trend is using heavier fabrics in unique ways. Those ladies who laughed were not nice. There are some people who will never be able to think outside the box and be creative. They have to use the same fabric shown on the pattern. Women in the past used whatever they had to use in their quilts. It is blue ribbon quality to me!

So sorry to hear that you were treated badly. I'm glad that you didn't give up on quilting due to a few nasty people. Nice job with your quilt. I have an antique quilt that my great great grandfather made (he was a tailor). These people would probably laugh, but it's a beautiful log cabin and has appraised as such.

OMG!! I was your "dear roommate" that year who stayed up until 1:00 helping you cut all the fabric. I think your quilt turned out beautiful. I'm glad you didn't get discouraged by this experience.
BTW,I still use that beautiful needlecase you gave me. I'm doing a redword project now and I like to keep about 5 needles threaded. So I thread them up and put them in my needlecase so they're ready for me when I need them.
