I dislike raw edge applique for the very reasons you had problems with. However, that being said, you client should be very pleased with the finished product. I couldn't even begin to image where you could take this quilt and your dedication to making everything work and work right is insprirational. It is a work of art!

You truly turn a pieced top into a work of art. That is just gorgeous. Thank you so much for sharing your quilting projects. I just wish I could come up with a vision for something that was a quarter as good as yours. Maybe one day?
