Blue scrappy for my FIL

Very lovely..but from experience I can tell you that the soap they use in the Nursing Home is very harsh. My grandma's quilt that she hand quilted is almost in shreds ~ I had no idea my aunt had sent it with her....I replaced it with one I bought at the store and Embroidered her name all around it.

Don't rule out a bedsize quilt. The nursing home my mom was in for many years encouraged residents to use something of their own on their beds. There is so little space for a person in the best of nursing homes, having their own bed cover serves many purposes. Our daughter & granddaughter made her a double fleece tied blanket-quilt. it was very colorful and Mom absolutely loved it. It stayed on her bed till the day she died.
If your father in law is cold, perhaps a fleece backing would help keep him warm. if you decide to do another lap quilt, put 3 ties on it for his wheel chair. 2 on the top & 1 on the bottom to attach to his chair. If it is tied, when he gets up to go to the bathroom it won't fall on the floor.
