    Default Blue Seahorse

I constructed the seahorse pixel as an experiment in scrappiness. My first idea was mixed colors, but decided on shaded of one color. It turned out the size of a panel, so I started adding to complete it into a quilt. First, I added the braids using the same blues. Then, I pulled out the blocks of shells and found the matching background fabric in my stash!
I have been using an all over large loopy quilting pattern for the pixel quilts, so that is what I did on the seahorse panel. Absolutely did not know what to quilt on the braids, so I asked for help. Ended up using a programmed stitch on the new Bernette B77! I also programmed the dolphin/waves stitching for binding and mid-background. My FMQ got better as I went. (I am growing more confident!) This hasn't been washed, so you can still see the blue stitching lines. What do ya'll think about a multi-color seahorse next?

Beautiful quilt. I wouldn't have the patience to sew all of those little squares together. FMQ came out great.

That looks fabulous. I think a multi color seahorse would be the perfect companion.

Whatever colors you use, your project will be beautiful - as always. You are so talented and your seahorse and shells is a beautiful quilt!
