I just finished this scarf yesterday. Its super easy to make and can use up your scraps! It calls for twenty 2" by 12" strips, but I used smaller pieces and more of them. I loved the prints I used...they were from a scrap bag from Cloud 9 fabrics (And I added one R. Kauffman owl print.... Urban Zoologie.... not sure if that was a great idea, since one owl ended up beheaded, upside down, with only his feet sticking up!! Should have planned better!!)

Next one I will make even longer though. Cute and easy gift! The tutorial is on daisyjanie.com

LOL! I thought the beheaded owl comment was hilarious! The whole scarf looks very nice and unique.

too cute! I thought the feet in the air was a unique touch!! Also the eyes worked out really neat, and although you probably did not make it for Halloween, it would make a perfect scarf for the holiday!!

That's a really neat idea and you did a great job with it. Your upside down owl looks like an alien with antennae.

The edges that look like binding... are not binding!! Its so super simple... those are just the edges of squares that wrap around to the back...best thing is NO SEAMS TO MATCH either because when you sew your rows together, you offset the squares instead of matching them up, that why the edges look like binding. I'll definitely be making more of these. I think if you make them with jelly rolls, they'll end up a little bit wider and longer too!
