Well..... I started making the big tube quilt top from this tute:

I used 32" strips (2.5" wide) and when I cut the tubes I got four blocks for the big quilt, with one leftover triangle (half block) on each end of the tube. I saved those triangles.

Now if you look at the above photo of the baby quilt top, you will see all the big triangles (each contains 6 strips) that I put together. First I had to cut them down to the size of the smallest one-- trimming from the straight grain side. I saved the scrappy trimmings for the stripes I will put on the back. I hope that's clear enough. That's all the instructions there are!

I kind of like the patterning of the baby quilt even better than the big quilt...
