That's a great idea. My scrap that I'm trying to match is usally at the bottom of my purse. And I can never remember how much I need. Your system would work sooooo much better!

That is what I do, but this is a good idea. I probably won't take a book with me just the pieces of fabric.

You could go ahead and put the date you finished it and who it went to! And don't forget to put the date you started the quilt, too! Might be interesting to see how long it took when you look in your book in years to come.
I agree with your suggestion. I do have that information in my little book. I move each card to the back of the book when the quilt is done and gone. I have not been quilting for very long and it has been an on and off process over the years, so my little book is not full, but I am looking forward to starting a second album. I can spend more time quilting and painting as I am now retired.
I have a 'brag book' I use to keep photos of finished quilts with an info card behind each photo. I made a cover for mine...(no pattern just measured book & started cutting & sewing)

But I REALLY like your idea Oma! for carrying scraps to fabric store!! Guess I will have to make me another!
so, so cute. Sure looks nicer and looks like it belongs to a quilter.

Wow. so organized.. I snip pieces of the fabric and put them in a ziplock bag, toss in purse and hope to god I can find them in the bottomless pit of a purse I have when I need it.. lol..
