Hey cute idea. Good idea for a stocking stuffer for the reader in the family. OMG am I thinking Christmas already :shock:

I've never had any problems using my one hole punch on fabric. You can get the grommet sets pretty much anywhere that has craft departments, I got mine, yes, at WalMart. In a pinch you can set them very carefully with a hammer and awl...but carefully are the key words here. They really are pretty inexpensive and they come in very handy for canvas bag ties, cloth purse and tote handles. I've even used them to make tie holes instead of button holes on some clothing. Not to mention its great to do a quick fix on those pesty tennis shoe grommets that come apart from time to time. Bookmarks are just one use for them. Hobby Lobby, WalMart, Michaels, anyplace like that should have them. Some tack shops have them available too. Tandy Leather if you still have one of those near you sells them too.

Gee Karla guess I got on here a little to late....sounds like you have some pretty nice suggestions....and the bookmarks are cute.... :D I can't help you anymore than what has already been said... :D There is some pretty smart gals on here :D

These are so cute and a great idea. I've found that if you use the invisible applique stitch to close the opening, it hardly shows at all. jo
