Yep - needs a border to frame your compasses. Two - inner thinner border in that medium golden brown, and the wider outer border in the darker brown or darker green. Do like the colors you chose for this quilt.

I like borders, I think that everything looks better with one.

Your quilt top is beautiful already. I would add a light then a dark border to frame your treasure.

Fold the fabric to the size of the border you were considering and put it next to the quilt top. Then step back and decide. The quilt top is wonderful.

Only add a border if you want to make it larger! :-) I think a darker colored border would set it off well!
