I finished my son's Boy Scout Quilt. He was a Cub Scout in the 1980s and my dad was a Boy Scout in the 1940s. I wanted to keep the shirt whole. Just cut out the backs and made pillows, too. It's queen size. I figured if I just gave the shirts to my son they would end up in a drawer. Now he can have the quilt as a reminder of his youth and in remembrance of his grandfather.

Those are GREAT! and, by golly the two together are absolutely an heirloom ...
    Well done!
And, you did the hand quilting of the symbols ... that is a very inspirational touch and technique.
You ARE going to enter it into the fair this summer, RIGHT????

Thank all of you for the compliments. I know my son will treasure it for many years to come. It was a work I enjoyed tremendously, especially since my dad passed away last year. I thought of him so much while making this quilt.

    Fun idea !!!

Son is Eagle, Father was Eagle, Never thought of this.

My son's cub scout shirt had so many arrows, he kept trying to wear it without tucking it in..

This brings back such wonderful memories !
    thanks for sharing !
