Braids and Bars quilt
This quilt was made for my nephew and his fiance from my MIL's stash(nephew's grandmother.) She didn't have enough quilts made to give to all of the unmarried grandchildren before she had to give up sewing. I was given her stash so I made this for their wedding shower/wedding gift.
It measures 88 by 91. The braids and bars are from my MIL's stash along with the blocks on the back that I found already made. Since she used a sheet for the backing and a local group of women to hand quilt it, I did the same. I deviated, though, with a scrappy binding and I machine stitched it on both sides.
I'm not happy that the navy blue is a lint magnet. Does anyone know if I can spray it with something to keep it from picking up lint, etc?
I started this quilt over a year and a half ago. Life got in the way but now it's finished with a week to spare until the wedding shower. Lol!
The quilt actually lays flat and has straight edges but I didn't have enough open space in front of my design wall.

that came out good, those braids aren't easy to do w/o stretching -- [at least that's the worst trouble i had with them]
that's awesome that you got to put that stash to good use! they will love it --
not sure about a spray, but if you wet a sponge and brush them, you may be able to keep the fuzzies to a minimum--
