Default Bright Batik Comfort Quilt

One of the ladies I work with was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and has started to undergo chemo. She's always been very sweet and I wanted to make something small for her so she knows how much she's loved. The whole thing is about 36"x40" (cat gives you a good idea of the size) and will be backed with a flannel sheet, white with purple butterflies (you can see it a little bit poking out at the bottom).

It's basted and ready to be quilted, hoping to finish this week, but I know I'll forget to take a picture when it's done. I didn't have a pattern, originally intending just to use squares in the center but then decided to break them up with strips between. I didn't want to make it overtly a breast cancer quilt but I did use some of the more subtle breast cancer fabric in the outer corners and it ended up being a lot more pink than I expected overall.

That is so sweet of you to do. I love the quilt! I really like how you wove the darker pink sashing through the blocks. And what a beautiful quilt inspector!! I'm sure this quilt will be loved by your friend!

What a pretty quilt for her to carry to chemo. It'll be just right for those chilly rooms.
