    Buster the Boxer

This was a hard one to do. The dog was quite old and it wasn't easy to come up with the part that shows his gray. He also had cataracts I think so I made him able to see again. I haven't heard from the customer so don't know if she liked it or not. This is my last commissioned piece as I worry so much about them liking it or not that it takes all of the pleasure away. I have also included the picture that I went by. I did change the front a little and had to guess about the right front where the pillow was.

I agree with all the others, just wanted to add also, that the whitish blue eyes may be how a dog's eyes reflect the flash - they don't get "red eye" like we do.
(That's not to say that the dog doesn't have cataracts, most older dogs do.)

Oh I think you did a gorgeous job! Sorry to hear this may be your last portrait. I've heard the same thing from people who do human portraits.

Great job. I think the "cataracts" are just light refraction from the camera flash. But you did a lovely job.

I think all the animal portraits I have seen your pictures of have been wonderful ~ this one included! I do think customers could at least let you know that they are pleased with the results and save you a lot of worry! Great work!

I'm one of her very, very satisfied customers and like someone said, shame on them for not letting her know. She does the best representations of animals that anyone could hope for.
