Yes. I took a digital photo to Office Max and had it enlarged. Then I taped the photo to a window, taped some paper over it and traced the outlines, and this became my "pattern". Then it was just a matter of applique work on the various elements.

Very nice! I had to laugh when you wrote '...it was JUST a matter of applique work ...' Not everyone could applique so beautifully. You captured Butch's expression beautifully.

Great dog, job and quilt I have seen some of these with art stitching to look like fur. swirls in the background. Can't wait to see it finished

Butch is adorable in real life and your quilt. If you haven 't quilted it already, I think i would do swirls in the white part to look like hair, and maybe some close lines in the colors of his face. Just a suggestion, have fun whatever you do with it
