Buzz Saw for my dad's 90th birthday
Shortly after making the bear paw quilt for my parents who live in an assisted living facility my dad's health declined and he was moved to skilled care. It is very sad for him and mom to live apart as they've been married for 69 years. His room looked so depressing so I whipped up this Buzz Saw and gave it to him for his 90th birthday. It cheered him up a bit. The picture is a collage showing the full view and a couple close ups.

That is such an attractive quilt for a man. It must be just as hard on you seeing your parents split up in living arrangements. Life is tough getting older. My folks just moved to assisted living. Luckily that is my sisters house. Best wishes for all.

Beautiful quilt. I am so sorry your parents are spilt up because of his health. I hope your mom can easily go visit him. At my mother's assisted living place, one wing is for the skilled care. So it wouldn't be too far. That is what I am hoping for your mother and father. Having that quilt in his room has to help though...helps both of them.

Such a beautiful quilt! It is hard watching our parents decline, my 85 yr old mom lives with me, every since I lost my DH, otherwise she would be in assisted living/nsg home. Hope your mom can visit your dad fairly often. My grandparents were married for 69 yrs, and they died just within a few months of each other.

Beautiful quilt Becky, and I love your borders. Sometimes when I finish a scrappy quilt I don't have enough long pieces for the border, and I always wondered if I could do a different fabric for each border, and now I see yours and I love the diagonal seam. I will definately try this soon. Thanks for sharing, and best wishes for your parents.

Great quilt for your Dad! Sorry to hear they have been separated but get working on a dual occupancy for your Mom. It can take a while and maybe by the time it becomes available she will be ready. I moved my Mom into long term last month so I know how hard it is.
