    If the center hole is too small, then you sewed up too far. Here is a link with very good instruction.

    this is the one I used

    long story short for the easy one. Download her template for marking the lines to sew. Cut 12 main fabric and 12 backing fabric at 6 inches each. Cut 12 batting at 5.5 each. Lay batting on wrong side of main fabric, then sew main fabric and lining, right sides together leaving a 2 ins opening to turn. Press and top stitch. then use the template to mark the sewing line and sew them together.....

    before sewing them together, pin three of them to gether first to make sure they are lined the right way, you want the point to be at the bottom. Pin each addition before sewing just to make sure.
