it's done finally! I only got up at 4:30 am to start sewing :) the border is a Walmart stripe fabric I fussy cut and mitered the corners. I'm much more pleased with it than the holly fabric. Now it has the whimsical look I wanted. The alternating red stripes are because I goofed and sewed the wrong side out on the 2nd piece of red. I liked the effect so I went with it. The candy canes took about 3.5 hours total to paper piece.

Babeegirl, this is amazing, and I LOVE how you turned a hiccup into a special effect....its surprising how nice some of the fabrics are on the wrong side....sometimes more effective :D

it ended up 12 inches by 16 inches and I put velcro stickies on the back to put it on the freezer door of the fridge which is black.

So pretty. I love the way the candy canes look. That little glitch turned out great. Gives them a cool effect.
