Oh yes I do mess up a lot. I wate an awful lot of fusible web and also fabric, trying to get the right colors.

I have see female Cardinals almost the exact color you used. Outstanding and the Cherry Blossoms really set it off.

Cuppi the female cardinal is a sort of washed out red. It almost seems to have a little brown-red to her.
