http://www.quiltfrog.com/fourhour.html Gives basic directions and sizes. L's is 72" square - the center is 48" with two borders. My squares were 6" so the cream batik was cut 6 1/2 and the squares for the HSTs 7 1/2. I prefer the cutdown method. I bought 1 1/4 yards of the cream (I have some left) and as little as 1/4 yard of some of the batiks and 1/2 yard of some. Some came from my stash, so I can't say exactly. Using eight fabrics instead two as pictured on the site makes it more interesting to put together. Use the design board and alternate your lights and darks. Recently stitchinbee posted a EQ chart in tutorials that would be helpful. I wish I'd had it sooner so I could have printed and colored it.

The braided border is perfect! Love the colors, design, quilting, and the back. The quilting is just excellent, and that braided border really adds so much to the design. Then the back is a great quilt on it's own.

You are all too kind. My FMQ still leaves something to be desired, but my children appreciate anything I do for them.
This has been a fun year learning to quilt - and believe me, it's still a learning experience. Thank you, everyone.
