Looks like a great candidate for feathers. Nice work on the piecing.

It is so pretty. I do not do good work in a class or when I am trying something for the first time. I would do a muslin with the star drawn on and then quilt this gorgeous top when I how learned how to form the feathers.

Carpenter's Stars are great for feathers. I did one in "Feathers and Ferns" for my DDIL for Christmas and loved the way it turned out! I did some practice blocks, just like Deb said above, before I actually started on the quilt though...

I love the pattern and can't wait to see it finished!
Being skinny isn't easy, so I gave up and opted for being sexy instead. (aunty acid)

This wasn't easy to do, as the pattern that we were following didn't have the correct fabric requirements listed. I was doing this entirely out of my stash & I really wanted to use that purple swirl, but didn't have enough of anything to match. When I got the center together on my design wall, I didn't care for it at all! But I had just enough of the purple swirl to do the pointed borders & I really liked the lighter purple for the outer edge, but until I got it all together wasn't sure if it would work. I'm so pleased with the outcome! I think the feathers will only enhance this quilt & can't wait to take the class!

Beautiful, what was the finished size ? I really like the top and bottom boarders , its a nice way to make a square quilt into a rectangle ...

I love the idea of the black and purple zig zag on the top and bottom. I think this would be a wonder border idea on any quilt.
