That is one of the "Legacy Studio" lines, my daughter loved the teal/purple... then it was a hunt to find just the right purple. Of course, we just had to add a little Kona black in there, and it really made the colors pop out :) The curtains and throwpillows for the back bedroom bed will be in the focal print, with the other colors as pole-casings, and bottom ruffle trim.

She loves to lay on that bed when its raining and we're out at camp, and she lays on her pillows and reads... so I'll be making her about 4-6 fluffy pillows for the bed (its a full-size) Since I'm redoing the whole front room in Steelers, I let her pick the backroom colors :) She will probably help me make the curtains & pillowshams in April/May when we get back out to the lake.

Needless to say, we hadn't started yet... and I saw a few Carpenter's Wheels (Carpenter's Star?) and liked the pattern.

So stupid me, wanting instant gratification, whips out some monkey fabric last night and matched it up with two other colors... tried the cheater pattern that uses all HST's... it's ok, but it's just not true diamonds, ya know? So not having tried "Y" seams yet to this extent, please don't call the quilting police! (pictures are kinda yuk, I took them with my phone)

For my first go at real "Y" seams, I don't think I did too bad. Got one pucker, but ya know what? I unstitched that stupid seam 5 times already, I just cannot, will not, DON'T make me do it please!!! (I can live with it, really!)

So after I finally got it together, I had to "audition" a few border options... we found one the whole family likes! So now I'm excited to get going on the last 3 blocks. I plan on doing a freehand feather on each of the diamonds to accentuate them. Will coordinate purple thread on the teal diamond, teal thread on purple diamond, and black thread on the print.
FW I think its great.
I wouldn't worry about doing the Y seams if I were you.
I did a few Y seams when i first started quilting and there not that hard. Your doing a great job on the quilt. I always love seeing this pattern.
Its one I need to do next.

Great colors! And, it looks like it will make a great quilt. Pretty cool idea putting it by a mirror to see what the block will look like.
